Busy Bee(:

"If a composer could say what he had to say in words he would not bother trying to say it in music."

I just had to share this quote..I found it today and I thought it was another quote that perfectly embodies the point of this blog.. Hope you guys like it.

So I apologize but I wont be posting a cover today.. But tomorrow I will, pinky promise. Here is my excuse for not posting :

Today was extremely busy.. To start it off I took a math exam on Florida Virtual School. Then I got ready to go dress shopping for brides maids dresses. My sister is getting married in a few month and we had to get them soon. After trying on a few dresses and a WHOLE BUNCH of shoes we bought the brides maids dresses and shoes for my mom, sister, and I. After completing all of the things on our checklist we had…one last thing to take care of… Lunch. We went to Chick-Fil-A and were all very satisfied. As soon as I got home, I had to get ready for horseback riding lessons.

A (Not So) Typical Weekend

This weekend my wonderful family, my four cousins, came over. Saturday started off with breakfast at Cracker Barrel. We all got rather large meals..

Then we went to see The Green Hornet in 3D, which was AMAZING.

Goofing off with a few of
my cousins (:

And around 4 o'clock left to go to the Monster Jam. My whole family got tickets for Christmas and it was so much fun. When we got there we had a "tail-gaiting" party. The boys through the football and us girls sat around and talked. Then around 6 we went to the stadium to get our seats. We waited for another hour and the madness began. The monster trucks we racing and did freestyle jumps and what not, there were also other fun things like Demolition Derby (real life bumper cars), etc.

Tail-gating and Demolition Derby

Monster Jam (:

Over all yesterday was fantastic.. Having my family over is always super fun..

I Love Me Some Rain(:

And when it rains on your parade, look up rather than down. Without the rain, there would be no rainbow.

Gilbert K. Chesterton

All day we have had severe thunder storm warnings and tornado warnings, the sky has been black, and my dogs have been acting a little spooked. It began raining around 5:30 and hasn't stopped. Sadly I didn't get a picture (the picture above was from Rock The Universe, but I thought it fit). Anyway, I've always loved the rain..

My best friend and I even danced in the rain once :P

(Picture my mom snapped :] )

This rain caused for a very lazy evening. We ate dinner and are currently watching our 3rd movie for the night. We have eaten just about everything in the house(tomato soup, popcorn, yogurt, etc.) I love nights like this, relaxing and spending time with the family.. (:

I am going to blog specifically about music on Mondays, and on other days blog about whatever random stuff I come up with. Here is the first video of the cover challenge! Hope you guys like it (:

Cover Challenge

So today I came up with this weird idea, I have a friend doing these cool 30 day challenges on their blogs. I wanted to do something similar, but music related. I am going to do a "10 week cover challenge". Every week I am going to do a cover, but not just a random cover. They are going limited to a time, genre, etc. Sooo, here is a list:

1. Favorite Song from 2004-2006

2. Favorite 80's Song
(This one will be difficult :P )

3. College Band
(This is what my sister calls bands like Boys Like Girls, Cartel, Dashboard Confessional, etc)

4. Country

5. Favorite Song...Of the week.

Okay so I know this is only 5 but I want input! If anyone has any ideas for topics, or specific songs I would love to hear them!!!!!! Comment below or email me at monica.musicspeaks@yahoo.com! I want to start this challenge next week so hurry and email me!

Creations From My Closet

I officially decided that not all of my blog posts are going to be about music. So beware, you may see more random posts than music ones..

Tonight not knowing what to do with myself, I began to get the munchies. I made a glass of warm tea to tie me over, and decided that I should blog. I had just gotten finished deciding on my outfit for tomorrow which took quite some time. So, I am going to blog about just that.

It always takes me forever to pick out outfits for the next day. I change my mind over and over again and it's sometimes ridiculous. I tried on a bunch of outfits tonight for fun to show you all, what my style is like.. Whether its "in season" or not. (:

This outfit sort of revolves around the fedora and jacket... I got the jacket in South Africa so don't get any ideas ;) You can always replace the flats with converse, or flip flops.

This outfit was created out of Christmas presents.. and yes, I know, I am missing shoes :'( oh well. The outfit is pretty balanced between the skinny jeans and flannel shirt. The maroon jeans can really be matched up with a lot, blue, black, brown, etc.

Okay so here is another flannel (definitely the focus of the outfit)complimented by the belt which thins you out a lot. Also you are probably thinking, "What is up with her shoes?" I promise I'm not crazy! It's the new fad I guess. I think its awesome. The long socks look doesn't have to be with high tops it could be with low tops, or hiking boots. Sounds crazy right?

Another balanced look, no focus. Flowy vest, another article of clothing that is an automatic thinner.. I'm all about accessories rockin' the headband and gladiator sandals (:

Thanks for reading (:

Cray(Zay)

Today I was in the mood to do a cover. So I decided that I would try out my sister's recording mic. It didn't look to hard, but boyy was I wrong! First I had to connect it, which wasn't the easiest task in the world. With a little help from Ashley I got it. Then recording, after and hour and a half I completed it :P Then I had to save it which I also didn't know how to do. Eventually I got it all figured out and finished it.

I recorded the song Crazy by Gnarles Barkley. It turned out pretty good :) I hope you guys like it!!

Check my other covers out on the "Cover" page.
